Sonic Syntax
This program invites audiences to trace sound as a constitutive, structuring element of video works and to challenge its relationship with the image: Which prompts which? Sound becomes an active authority, gains material presence, and propels narratives or makes them possible in the first place. It acts as a temporal continuum, sets the rhythm of the editing, and provides atmosphere. It facilitates movement and space. Sometimes it acts as a “glue” or supporting structure. Like an infrastructure, it makes almost everything possible unseen.
