On October 10, 2026, mumok will open its new Atelier. Soon, an entire 140 m² floor of the museum will be available as an open space for making, experimenting and trying new materials and techniques.
Located on mumok’s third basement level, the space was designed in collaboration with Viennese architect Christa Stürzlinger and is equipped with high-quality materials and tools. Visitors can work with clay and earth, plaster, sand, charcoal and chalk, wire, string, wool and felt, cardboard, paper, and found objects made of wood and metal.
mumok will celebrate the grand opening of its new atelier with a Family Day on 10 October. More information on the opening celebrations can be found here.
Information for your visit
From Tuesday to Friday, the Atelier is open without prior registration and can be accessed free of charge with a valid admission ticket. Children and young people under the age of 19 can always visit mumok free of charge. Up to the age of 14, they must be accompanied by an adult.
On weekends, time slots in the Atelier are reserved for bookable workshops. The programme of the new mumok Atelier, featuring workshops for adults and children, will be published shortly.
