Things cannot be controlled, least of all those that make up the world. Philipp Gehmacher respects that, and yet he does not leave things untouched. On the contrary: he draws closer to them, thinks about them aloud while moving about, he takes them with him to the museum where he calls them into question right in the middle of the exhibition by artist Martin Beck. Their materiality as well as their appearance, their and his physical forms are constellations he discovers and invents and which prey on his mind. This work by the renowned Austrian choreographer is considered a masterpiece. It happens up close to the audience.
