Tolia Curriculum
Open Studio with Jacksun Bein
As Tolia Astakhishvili's exhibition Figure of the Child takes shape, the museum becomes a site of continuous artistic production. You are invited to engage with the exhibition while it is still in the making.
On this evening, artist and writer Jacksun Bein will video call us from New York to read an essay to his father. A letter in preparation for absence, spoken across distances in the presence of an audience.
Jacksun Bein (b. Louisiana, USA) is an artist and writer who lives and works in New York. Together with Livia Polanyi, he contributed to Tolia Astakhishvili’s publication Half State (DISTANZ, 2026).
The event will be conducted in English.
Tolia Curriculum is a project conceived by Georgian artist Tolia Astakhishvili, unfolding as a daily schedule of workshops, lectures, screenings, readings, and participatory formats for children and adults. In the lead-up to Figure of the Child, her largest exhibition to date, Astakhishvili opens her production and installation process to the public as she develops her work in situ.
