Florian Meisenberg, Future Readings
On this evening, Florian Meisenberg invites audiences to Future Readings. What would usually be an intimate ritual between two people—coffee-ground reading—is made into a shared public experience.
Future Readings is a performative workshop rooted in Turkish coffee-reading traditions and reimagined as a collective act of interpretation. Using a miniature endoscopic camera, the interior of the cup is filmed and projected live as its sediment forms are interpreted in real time. The ritual shifts from private exchange to a shared act of looking, where narration, projection, and collective attention transform the cup into a landscape of emerging meaning.
Florian Meisenberg (b. 1980, Berlin, Germany) lives and works in New York. His practice moves between painting, installation, and film.
Future Readings will be conducted in both German and English.
Tolia Curriculum is a project conceived by Georgian artist Tolia Astakhishvili, unfolding as a daily schedule of workshops, lectures, screenings, readings, and participatory formats for children and adults. In the lead-up to Figure of the Child, her largest exhibition to date, Astakhishvili opens her production and installation process to the public as she develops her work in situ.
