Tolia Curriculum
Florian Meisenberg, Das Erste Mal
Artist Florian Meisenberg brings his screening program Das Erste Mal to mumok.
Das Erste Mal presents the first video works of contemporary artists—experimental, direct, and often eccentric short films that reveal creative beginnings in which intuition precedes style and curiosity overrides calculation. The moving image becomes a tool for testing ideas in real time, allowing accidents, hesitation, and discovery to remain visible. As part of a constantly evolving program, the mumok presentation draws on Meisenberg’s archive and adds new works in response to the local context—among them Tolia Astakhishvili's first film Horses (1998).
Florian Meisenberg (b. 1980, Berlin, Germany) lives and works in New York. His practice moves between painting, installation, and film.
The event will be conducted in English.
Tolia Curriculum is a project conceived by Georgian artist Tolia Astakhishvili, unfolding as a daily schedule of workshops, lectures, screenings, readings, and participatory formats for children and adults. In the lead-up to Figure of the Child, her largest exhibition to date, Astakhishvili opens her production and installation process to the public as she develops her work in situ.
