Dylan Peirce, Strange Places
In this workshop, Dylan Peirce explores the idea of a “sound object” — how simple materials can be used to construct, shape, and perform sonic situations. Working together, we will create bodies of sound and reflect on listening, our sonic imaginaries, and their infinite potential.
Dylan Peirce (b. 1977, Paris, France) is a multidisciplinary artist who works in the field of sound, experimental photography, sculpture, video, and installation. Selected exhibitions, performances and interventions include Rennes Biennial for Contemporary Art, Rennes (2012); KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin (2003); Vleeshal, Middelburg (2011); Bonner Kunstverein (2024); SculptureCenter, New York (2024); MoMA PS1, New York (2025); and Nicoletta Fiorucci Foundation, Venice (2025). In 2022, he released the album Pindrops on the Berlin label Digital in Berlin.
Please bring at least five objects or materials that sound "strange."
The workshop will be conducted in English.
Tolia Curriculum is a project conceived by Georgian artist Tolia Astakhishvili, unfolding as a daily schedule of workshops, lectures, screenings, readings, and participatory formats for children and adults. In the lead-up to Figure of the Child, her largest exhibition to date, Astakhishvili opens her production and installation process to the public as she develops her work in situ.
