the} journey

the} journey

This program curated by Maria Petschnig is a social documentary—a Netflix picaresque. You can follow along on your phone. the} journey takes us through a freshly planted wilderness of images to a soundtrack of spilling wine, playing children, falling statues, and sick bees. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll breathe. You’ll like, you’ll share. These regular, new-growth catastrophes make you feel like a distracted camera, drifting away from the shot. It’s a constant struggle to care—and to remember: We can see what we want to see, but we must breathe what’s there to breathe.
