Move Closer! Radical Intimacy
Under the motto Move Closer! Radical Intimacy, the 22nd edition of the international short film festival VIENNA SHORTS explores intimacy as a political space, and relationships and solidarity as acts of resistance. More than 300 international short films will be screened in some of Vienna’s most beautiful cinemas.
From May 29 to June 1, the festival will also take place for the first time at mumok cinema – featuring all 14 competition programs as well as two special screenings.
Each day includes four programs, each comprising 5 to 10 short films, with a total running time of 70 to 85 minutes.
The competition features 90 short films from 26 countries, across the international categories Fiction & Documentaryand Animation Avantgarde, as well as the Austrian Competition and the Austrian Music Video Award.
The program Creatures Of The Night (80s Ballads Sing Along) will be presented as a collaborative event between mumok and VIENNA SHORTS, in conjunction with the exhibition Never Final! The Evolving Museum.
