The mumok Atelier opens its doors on 10 October 2026. Look forward to a diverse programme, inspiring materials, and plenty of opportunities to experience art in creative ways.

To celebrate the opening, a wide range of activities invites you to try new things, leave your mark, and give free rein to your imagination. The programme takes place both in the new mumok Atelier and in Figure of the Child by Tolia Astakhishvili, where additional spaces encourage participation, experimentation, and discovery.

Come by, join in, and experience mumok from new perspectives. We look forward to welcoming you!

Information:

• Participation and admission are free for all children and young people up to age 19.
• An accompanying adult is required for children under 14.
• No registration is required for any of the individual program activities.

Free Painting
Paint whatever comes to mind! Colours, brushes, and a variety of tools invite you to experiment and explore. Paint on walls, tables, and large sheets of paper.

Stamping and Printmaking
Design your own postcard. Whether as a keepsake from your museum visit or a greeting for friends and family, a range of stamps and printing materials will be available for you to use.

Hands-On Activities

Drawing and Sketching
Large rolls of paper on the walls and floor, as well as a variety of small and large paper formats, provide space for sketches, ideas, thoughts, and notes.

Feeling and Forming
Put your sense of touch to the test: explore hidden materials and shapes using only your hands. Inspired by these tactile discoveries, create your own forms using modelling clay or on paper.

Animal Companions
Create your own imaginative creatures using a variety of materials. Whether through cutting, gluing, drawing, or colouring, you can design a unique companion to take home with you at the end of the day.

Balloon Artist

10 am to 6 pm 
For children ages 4 and up
Location: Level -1

Before you leave, a balloon artist will create the balloon sculpture of your dreams: whether it is a dog, flower, parrot, lion, magic sword, or abstract work of art. You decide what special keepsake you would like to take home as a reminder of an unforgettable day at the museum!
