Interactive Activity Station in the Exhibition Figure of the Child

How does an exhibition change when its visitors actively contribute to it?

Tolia Astakhishvili understands the “figure of the child” as a symbol of imagination, openness, and creative action. We invite children, teenagers, and adults to explore the exhibition Figure of the Child creatively and leave their own traces behind. Using liquid paints, large sheets of paper, fabrics, stamps, figurines, and building blocks, the openness of the exhibition space becomes tangible, offering opportunities for creativity, play, and shared experiences of making and creating together.

Gouache sticks are available at Tolia Astakhishvili’s eight-metre-long table. These richly pigmented painting sticks encourage spontaneous drawing, painting, and experimentation. Large sheets of paper on the walls and floor provide plenty of space and liquid paint for creative expression. Small and large paper formats offer room for sketches, thoughts, and notes. At our stamp-making station, you can create your own stamps and put them to use right away. In addition, parts of the exhibition can be supplemented with drawings, lettering, and messages.

The activity station is not only an invitation to create. Children’s books and comfortable cushions provide space for reading and relaxing. Figurines, fabrics, building blocks, and hula hoops open up possibilities for play, movement, and imagination.

Gradually, the many different contributions come together to form a collective artwork that continues to change, grow, and be shaped by its visitors throughout the duration of the exhibition.

• For families with children aged 3 and over, teenagers, and adults.
• No registration required.
• Free admission for children and teenagers up to the age of 19.
• Adults may participate with a valid exhibition ticket or a mumok annual pass.
• Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
