For one evening, Level -2 of mumok becomes a space for dialogue. At its center is in situ – Kunstraum Buchberg, a new publication edited by Dieter and Gertraud Bogner, bringing together forty site-specific artistic interventions created at Schloss Buchberg between 1982 and 2024.

The evening takes place within Tolia Astakhishvili's exhibition Figure of the Child, in the hosting structures the artist created for the space. Fatima Hellberg, Dieter Bogner, and Gertraud Bogner open the evening with reflections on the book and on Kunstraum Buchberg. Dieter Bogner then leads a conversation with Josef Dabernig, Dorit Margreiter Choy, Sofie Thorsen, and Heimo Zobernig — all of whom have realized works at Buchberg — as they discuss their emotional and analytical search for a place in which to develop content and form within the complex architecture of the site.

Kunstraum Buchberg
Over the past four decades, Dieter and Gertraud Bogner have invited forty international artists to choose a place at Schloss Buchberg — in gardens, courtyards, rooms, towers, staircases, and attics — for a permanent, site-specific intervention, allowing each location's architectural, material, functional, or historical character to become part of the artistic statement. The publication offers an insight into the dramaturgy of a tour through Schloss Buchberg, full of unexpected discoveries: from Dan Graham's pavilion and Heimo Zobernig's pergola in the front gardens, to Bernhard Leitner's sound space in the upper courtyard, the spatial concepts by Dora Maurer, Roland Goeschl, and François Morellet in the north wing, Nikita Kadan's neon work in the chapel courtyard, and on to the works by Stanislav Kolibál, Sofie Thorsen, and Dorit Margreiter Choy in the monumental attic.
