Never Final! The Evolving Museum is the title of the current exhibition at mumok – Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien, dedicated to the transformation of the institution during Dieter Ronte’s directorship (1979–1989). The 1980s also marked the founding decade of today’s ImPulsTanz festival. Founded as the Wiener Tanzwochen in 1984, ImPulsTanz has become the largest festival for contemporary dance and performance, attracting approx. 200,000 visitors this year. At the invitation of mumok, we are opening our drawers, shelves and (treasure) chests for the first time, showcasing posters, programme booklets, videos and photographs from across the decades.
