In this edition of Queer Feminist Perspectives in the exhibitions Mapping the 60s and Never Final! The Evolving Museum, we examine the conditions and approaches of feminist art production, feminist exhibition projects, and the collection policies of the mumok. What artistic approaches and media works were developed by feminist and queer feminist artists? What was exhibited and when? By whom? What experiences did female artists have when they were the only women invited to exhibitions? What experiences did female artists and curators have when claiming exhibition spaces—for example, at the 1985 exhibition Kunst mit Eigensinn (Art with Obstinacy) at the former 20er Haus? An exhibition that is still considered an important reference project for current feminist and queer feminist projects.
