Tolia Curriculum
Studio for Art and Time, pass it on

pass it on is an evening of performative readings, actions and playful situations conceived by students of the Studio for Art and Time | Photography (led by Agata Madejska, Michael Höpfner, Saskia Te Nicklin) at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, in collaboration with the Danish artist Elisabeth Molin. It is an opportunity to practice together, to try out things, and to listen – through and with each other. Trust as the foundation of relationships is mirrored in this event based on a chain of collaborations between the artist, the institution, educators, students, a guest, the audience and the figure of a child. As we wander together through an aftermath of ideas, an unexpected rhythm of ghostly gestures, words, images and sounds guides us through a scenery under construction. 

Elisabeth Molin's multimedia practice is rooted in the photographic, exploring the distance between an image of a thing and the thing as it exists in the world. Her work questions how flat surfaces and digital infrastructures have come to mediate human relations. She has shown work at KW Institute Berlin, Wiels Brussels, PUBLICS Helsinki, and ISCP New York, among other venues. Since 2023 she has initiated picnic, a nomadic platform for artists who write as part of their practice.

The event will be conducted in English.

Tolia Curriculum is a project conceived by artist Tolia Astakhishvili, unfolding as a daily schedule of workshops, lectures, screenings, readings, and participatory formats for children and adults. In the lead-up to Figure of the Child, her largest exhibition to date, Astakhishvili opens her production and installation process to the public as she develops her work in situ.
