Gérard Deschamps, L’important c’est l’art rose, 1960

Gérard Deschamps who was in some cases censored for works like L’important c’est l’art rose (1960), has arranged here used articles of pale pink women’s underwear—corsets, negligees, bras—into a fetishistic ensemble that could readily serve as an object lesson in the “objectification of women.” Art educator Tabia Manon Reinwald talks about his assemblage in the exhibition (Anti-)Pop as part of the collection exhibition Enjoy – the mumok Collection in Change.
