Fluxus

Equally important in the collection are the works from the Fluxus movement. Fluxus is an art genre which came into being in 1962 and was particularly influenced by artists such as Joseph Beuys, Nam June Paik, George Maciunas, George Brecht and Dick Higgins.

The term Fluxus stands for the imperceptible transition between art and life (flux).  Often Fluxus is characterised by a collage-like composition of event sequencing, also called 'concerts' because acoustic, choreographic and musical forms of expression flow together in it.
